We Analyzed 12 Dental Clinics: Results Are Shocking

Antalya is one of the world’s largest dental tourism hubs. Every year, tens of thousands of international patients travel to Turkey for dental treatment. But 92% of these patients choose their clinic through Google. So how do Antalya’s dental clinics perform on Google? Using a 36-criteria professional SEO analysis, we examined 12 clinics. The highest score was 52/100. The lowest was 28/100. None of the 12 clinics scored above 60.

Why Did We Conduct This Analysis?

Competition in the dental tourism sector is intensifying. New clinics open every day, and every clinic claims to be “the best.” But being visible on Google and “claiming to be the best” are very different things.

When a patient types “dental implants Antalya” or “Zahnimplantat Türkei”, any clinic that doesn’t appear on the first page simply doesn’t exist for that patient. No matter how beautiful the website is, if it’s not visible on Google — no one will see it.

At MedBoost, we subjected 12 different dental clinics in Antalya to a professional SEO audit. The goal: to reveal the true digital state of the industry. The results surprised even us.

Note: Clinic names have been kept anonymous for privacy reasons. However, the scores, errors, and findings are based on 100% real data.

Methodology: 36-Criteria Analysis

We evaluated each clinic against 36 different SEO criteria. These criteria are grouped into 4 main categories:

8 On-Page SEO (Meta, H1, Alt Tags, URL)
13 Technical SEO (SSL, Speed, Mobile, Canonical)
5 Schema.org (Product, Reviews, Breadcrumb)
10 Content & Strategy (Blog, Languages, Sitemap)

Each criterion was evaluated on a pass/fail basis. A percentage score was calculated based on how many of the 36 criteria were passed. The selected clinics are those in Antalya that actively advertise, target international patients, and have a website.

Tools we used: Google PageSpeed Insights, Google Search Console data, Schema.org Validator, Lighthouse, manual source code analysis, and crawler scans.

Overall Results: The Table

The table below shows the scores of 12 clinics based on 36 criteria. Color coding: red <40, orange 40–59, yellow 60–79, green 80+.

The Most Shocking Findings

In our 36-criteria analysis, 5 findings stood out — these aren’t just SEO errors, they literally mean money is being thrown away.

1. The Invisible Clinic: Entire Site Set to noindex

In the source code of Clinic A’s website, we found this:

<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">

This single line tells Google “never index this site.” Clinic A probably spent tens of thousands of dollars on their website. Professional photos, content in 7 languages, beautiful design. But Google doesn’t even know this site exists.

Clinic A’s web developer most likely forgot to remove the noindex tag when launching the site. This “oversight” means the clinic receives zero patients from Google. Every penny spent on marketing only comes from ads — organic traffic is literally zero.

2. Liposuction Meta on a Dental Clinic Page

In the meta description of Clinic C’s “Dental Implant” page, we found this:

“Meet our expert team for the best liposuction results...”

Yes, you read that correctly. A dental clinic’s implant page has a liposuction meta description. This is either a copy-paste error from the CMS or a leftover template from a previous cosmetic clinic. Either way, Google classifies this page as “irrelevant content.”

When a patient searches “dental implant Antalya,” they see “liposuction” underneath Clinic C in the search results. That patient will never click. And Google will never rank this page highly for dental searches.

3. 7.4-Second Load Time — The Formula for Losing Patients

Google’s recommended maximum load time: 2.5 seconds. Clinic C’s load time: 7.4 seconds. Clinic J is even worse: 12 seconds.

2.5s Google’s Recommendation (Max.)
7.4s Clinic C Load Time
12s Clinic J Load Time
53% Bounce rate on sites slower than 3s

According to Google’s own research, when load time exceeds 3 seconds, 53% of visitors leave the page. At 7 seconds, this rate exceeds 70%. This means 7 out of every 10 patients visiting Clinic C leave before the page even loads and go to a competitor.

Slow site = lost patients. Every second of delay reduces conversion rates by 7%. A 7.4-second site loses two-thirds of potential patients before they even say “hello.”

4. Zero Schema Markup Across All 12 Clinics

In Google search results, some clinics appear with stars, reviews, business hours, and prices. These clinics get 30% more clicks. We investigated this across the 12 Antalya clinics. The result?

0 Clinics Using Product Schema
0 Using LocalBusiness Schema
0 Using Review/Rating Schema
0 Using FAQ Schema

Zero. None of the 12 clinics have any Schema markup. This means they appear as plain text in Google search results. No stars, no reviews, no business hours. If a competitor shows up with stars — who does the patient choose?

5. 8 Out of 12 Clinics Have No Blog = Zero Content Strategy

Patients ask hundreds of questions on Google every day: “do implants hurt?”, “how long do zirconium crowns last?”, “is dental treatment in Antalya safe?”. The clinic that answers these questions wins that patient. The one that doesn’t? Hands the patient to a competitor.

8 out of 12 clinics don’t even have a blog page. Of the remaining 4: one hasn’t posted since 2023, two have blog pages marked as noindex (Google can’t see them), and one has all articles under 100 words (“thin content”).

“Dental implant cost 2026,” “how long does zirconium coating take,” “Hollywood smile Antalya” — none of these 12 clinics appear for any of these searches. The reason is simple: no content. If there’s no content, the clinic doesn’t exist for Google. These searches are made thousands of times daily, and each one is a patient going to another clinic.

What Would Your Clinic Score?

While analyzing these 12 clinics, we discovered common patterns. If at least 3 of these 5 errors exist on your site, you’re probably below 50/100.

Error 1: Missing or Copy-Pasted Meta Descriptions
Your pages’ meta descriptions are either empty, identical on every page, or contain content from another industry. Google flags these pages as “low quality.” 9 out of 12 clinics had this error.

Error 2: No Alt Tags on Images
Hundreds of images on your website are completely invisible to Google. A patient searching for “dental implant Antalya” on Google Images will never find you. 10 out of 12 clinics had this error on more than 80% of their images. Hundreds of potential patients are also lost through image search.

Error 3: Multi-Language Support But No Hreflang
Your site exists in 5–7 languages. Great. But Google shows your Turkish page to the German patient. And to the Russian patient. And to the English patient. 11 out of 12 clinics have completely broken language targeting. You created content in 5–7 languages, but patients see the wrong language page and leave.

Error 4: Missing or Broken Sitemap.xml
Google can’t find your site’s pages. 6 out of 12 clinics have a sitemap that is either missing or returns a 404 error. This means half your site has never been indexed by Google. Even your existing pages are not showing in search results.

Error 5: Not Mobile-Friendly
68% of patients search from mobile devices. If your site doesn’t display properly on mobile, Google penalizes you and you lose patients. 5 out of 12 clinics failed the mobile test.

Test yourself: How many of these 5 errors exist on your site? If you’re not sure — they probably all do. Because none of the 12 clinics were aware of these errors. They all thought “our website is fine.”

Your Competitors Are Making These Mistakes — Are You?

The most important conclusion from this analysis: everyone is bad. None of the 12 clinics scored above 60. The average is 40.5. This means SEO in the dental sector is completely neglected.

And now here comes the dangerous part:

While everyone scores 40–50, the first clinic to take action will completely capture the market. Those left behind will have to double their ad budgets — because organic results will already belong to someone else. There is no prize for second place in this race.

“dental implants Turkey,” “Zahnklinik Antalya,” “Hollywood smile Turkey” — these searches are made thousands of times every month. Right now, none of these patients are coming to you. And this window won’t stay open forever.

When one of your competitors sees this data and takes action — it won’t be you, they will dominate. Then you’ll have to spend even more on ads, but you still won’t be able to catch up.

Your Current SituationWhat You’re Losing
Google organic traffic~50–200 visitors/month2,000–5,000 patients LOST per month
Ad dependency100% dependent on adsWhen ads stop, patients = zero
International patientsOnly visible in TurkishGerman/English/Russian patients LOST
Cost per patient1,500–3,000 TL (ads)Paying 5–10x more per patient
Competitive positionStuck with 12 clinics in the same swampFirst mover will crush you

All 12 dental clinics in Antalya are stuck in the same swamp. The first one out captures the market. The second one picks up the crumbs. The third is still asking “do we really need SEO?”

The question is: which one will you be?

This analysis shows that Antalya’s dental tourism sector is experiencing a digital disaster. Beautiful websites exist, expensive ads are running, but Google is ignoring these sites. Dozens of critical errors, hundreds of lost patients, thousands of liras going to waste.

And every day these errors grow bigger. Clinics are pumping more money into Google Ads — because their organic traffic is zero. When the ad budget runs out, so do the patients. This is a vicious cycle, and most clinics don’t even realize it.

Final word: These 12 clinics are just the tip of the iceberg. There are hundreds of dental clinics in Antalya, and most of them are making the same mistakes. Do you know how many of these errors your site has? Or do you think “our website is fine” — just like these 12 clinics?
